Mail still on server?
To check if you are leaving mail on our server perform the following
1. Open Outlook Expres on XP or Windows Mail Vista and go to 'Tools'
2. then to 'Accounts'. This will open a pop up window
3. Then click on the mail tab and find your email account in the window shown
4. Double left click on your email account. This will open another window
5. Click on the 'Advanced' tab (seen below)
6. At the bottom of the window under 'Delivery' you will see several checkboxes.
Make sure 'Leave a copy of the message on server is unchecked to avoid going over your quota.
Best Practices
Leave the box checked to 'Leave a copy of message on server' then check off the box below that says 'Remove from server after X days'. Set the number of days to something such as 30. Depending on how much mail you receive and the size of your mail messages you can set this longer.
This way you will always have a 30 day back up on the server. If your computer crashes you will be able to recover the last 30 days of email or access your email through the webmail from any computer. This is helpful if you need access to your email but are at a public computer and can't take your computer with you.
