Our shop is a fully equiped service center as well as a small retail operation. Our In-house services include computer repair, upgrades, virus and spyware removal, tune-ups and much more.
Our History
Originally formed by Howard Brooks in the early 1990's to build computers for the local community the business grew to provide dial-up and dsl service boasting over 700 customers. When Howard decided to retire in 2002 Bill Thompson, a member of the board of directors, decided to purchase IAMNet and a new era was born as the tech bubble burst and highspeed internet went mainstream. IAMNet diversified to maintain its customer base and became the business it is today.
In July of 2006 IAMNet moved from its long time office in the Bradford Pizza Chef building to make way for a new Dunkin Donuts. Our move was only across the parking lot and gave us more office space. See our photo gallery.
In August of 2007 with the help of local Newbury community members IAMNet began providing broadband access to the previously unserved Newbury harbor area. Our thanks to the community that has made this service expansion possible.
As 2009 came along both Bill and James recognized the need for managed business products that could serve our local community. After being on the front lines working to recover businesses lost data and crashed servers IAMNet rolled out the Redempsys product. This product was designed to bridge the gap for small, growing businesses that need an IT person but cannot afford to have a full time staff.
